Finally, some hope at an Athens refugee camp 

It was tempting to watch the innovative band rather than think of the remaining 600 children, as time seemed to stand still around the camp. Instead, I mentally ran the 6-level WACIT model while walking around and, unlike recent visits in other settings, there was ground for optimism. 


All 6 levels were in hand, either through existing input or concrete plans. Implementation of psychosocial support will be a different ballgame, but the SOS Children’s Villages and other agencies have done a great job in a short time to start shaping up a more purposeful model.
